About Richard Ruskell

Richard Ruskell’s start in the culinary industry began with his first job: a waiter/short order cook. When his theatre career did not take off as planned, he turned back to food. Richard attended the French Culinary Institute in New York where he discovered his passion for pastries. He has become a huge name on Food Network, winning more challenges than anyone else. When not making cakes, Richard spends his time going to the theatre. Even then, he makes cakes: Richard bakes for every opening night at the Geffen Playhouse, and says, “More than anything, it has stretched me as a cake artist.”
